Is my chat data uploaded anywhere?
No. All chat processing — parsing, media, PDF rendering, voice transcription — happens locally in your browser. The extension's Content Security Policy gives chat data no network path; the only endpoint it can reach is our license-activation API, used once when you buy, and that call carries license information only. An on-device network log shows you every request the extension has ever made.
Do I need an account?
No. The free tier needs nothing at all. Paid plans are activated with a license key you receive after checkout — no login, no profile, nothing stored on our side beyond the license itself.
Is this a subscription?
No. Every paid license is a one-time payment and works forever. Purchases include 12 months of new-feature updates; after that, everything you bought keeps working, and you can optionally renew at 50% off in any year you want the newly shipped features. Parser fixes are always free, for everyone.
What happens when WhatsApp changes their layout?
The parser is hot-patchable: we ship selector fixes to every install — free, on every plan, forever. A lapsed feature pass never breaks anything you bought.
Are the PDFs admissible in court?
Admissibility is always jurisdiction-dependent, but wachive is built to support it: exports carry a SHA-256 hash of the message stream with printed verification instructions, a chain-of-custody cover page, optional Bates numbering, and optional RFC 3161 certified timestamps. Consult counsel for your jurisdiction's requirements.
Is wachive HIPAA compliant?
wachive processes all chat content locally and never transmits it, so no PHI ever reaches us and no Business Associate Agreement is needed. wachive is a tool, not a compliance program — using WhatsApp itself to communicate PHI may violate HIPAA regardless of how chats are exported. Consult your compliance officer.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox (Manifest V3). One license covers your browsers — Basic and Pro keys activate on up to 5 devices, Legal on 2 (identity-stamped), and each Firm seat on 2.
How does Firm licensing work?
The firm buys a band (5 seats — $179, 15 seats — $449, or Unlimited — $999) through an invoice-capable checkout. Each attorney activates their own seat with the firm key and firm email, and every export stamps both the firm and that attorney's name. Seat changes are handled via the contact form.
