Terms of service

wachive is a browser extension published by Triblyn Studios LLC ("wachive", "we"). These terms govern your use of the extension, this website, and any license you purchase. By installing the extension or buying a license you agree to them.

The extension may be used free of charge with the limits shown in the extension (currently the 100 most recent messages per export, two styles, and a small watermark). The free tier includes the full privacy model: chat content is processed entirely in your browser.

Paid plans (Basic, Pro, Legal, Firm) are sold as a one-time purchase of a perpetual license. Every feature included in your plan on the day you buy keeps working for as long as the extension exists; repairs to existing functionality (for example when WhatsApp changes its page layout) are provided free of charge for the life of the product.

Each purchase also includes a 12-month feature pass: features we release after your purchase date are available while the pass is active. When it lapses nothing you bought stops working; you may optionally renew the pass at the published renewal price to unlock later features.

Basic and Pro licenses may be activated on up to 5 devices; a Legal license is issued to one named individual and may be activated on up to 2 devices; a Firm license provides the purchased number of seats, each assigned to one named person at the firm and activatable on up to 2 devices. Activation contacts our activation server once and returns a signed license that embeds the purchaser's name and email; the licensee name is printed on chain-of-custody cover pages.

You may not share, resell, publish, or sublicense a license key. Keys that are shared publicly or activated beyond their limits may be revoked. Firms with several users must purchase a Firm license; an individual Legal license is not licensed for shared use.

Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Paddle.com, which handles payment, applicable sales tax/VAT, and invoices. Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms apply to every purchase. Prices are shown before checkout and may change for future purchases; changes never affect a license already bought. All sales are final — the free version lets you test the product before you buy; see our Refund policy.

You may export only chats you are entitled to access and to keep copies of, and you are responsible for complying with WhatsApp's terms and with the laws that apply to you, including privacy and evidence rules in your jurisdiction. You may not use wachive to circumvent access controls or to process data you have no right to process.

WhatsApp is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. wachive is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta. The Legal and Firm plans produce exports with cryptographic hashes and chain-of-custody information as supporting material; whether an export is admissible or sufficient is decided by the court or authority concerned and depends on your jurisdiction. wachive processes chat content locally and never transmits it, which supports HIPAA compliance obligations for organizations that must control PHI; wachive is a tool, not a compliance program, and using WhatsApp itself to communicate PHI may violate HIPAA regardless of how chats are exported. Consult your compliance officer or counsel.

wachive is provided "as is". WhatsApp may change its web application at any time, which can temporarily affect exports until we ship a fix; we work to repair such breakage promptly but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the extension or a license is limited to the amount you paid for that license, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be excluded.

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. We may revoke a license that is used in breach of these terms. You may stop using the extension at any time; uninstalling it removes all locally stored data.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Triblyn Studios LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence applies. Questions about these terms: use the contact form.
